Nahant is a resort town of rocky coasts in the southernmost part of Essex County. Nahant became a resort Mecca early on. Visitors stayed in boarding houses or private homes and the first hotel was built in 1803.
Steamboats sailed from Nahant to Boston daily and a stage ran from the Nahant Hotel and connected twice daily with coaches running between Boston and Salem. Tourism flourished and year round residents were few.
Beginning in 1870 construction firms started putting up hundreds of summer homes for visitors to the town. In recent times Nahant has protected its expansive beach and causeway and its residential status.

On Wednesday evenings, Stacie Nardizzi is offering “Yoga for Women” here in Nahant! Sessions focuses on the foundational poses of yoga with a gentle, but spirited pace. Great class for beginners, athletes/runners wanting to supplement their training, as well as seasoned yogini's who simply want a change-of-pace class. Yoga is an ideal practice for increasing your inner strength, flexibility and balance. This is the perfect class to help you reduce stress and learn the tools for relaxation. It is also excellent for all sports injury prevention.
